My first Ponzi (part 1)
(This story did not end in tears, I promise)
A friend of mine told me about this ponzi. When I heard that even senior residents and consultants were cashing out, that was enough motivation for me. As for me, I'm one of the two lucky Nigerians that has not been scammed by any Ponzi scheme. I considered the following theories ;
1)most times, people are scammed on their 3rd Ponzi
2)Ponzi would usually crash a week surrounding Christmas
3)this Ponzi was just starting so I could be among the lucky starters.
I knew it was Ponzi, wasn't denying that one. So there wasn't going to be that 'had I known' moment.
One very attractive thing about this Ponzi was that they didn't force it down your throat to refer people. That would have been a turn-off for me.
One faithful day, I was sitting outside the theater when I saw my junior Reg that was asked to document the surgery, pressing his phone in front of the theater. I went closer and I recognized the app from his phone screen. You needed to see that hustler biting his tongue. He told me how he was the pioneer of the Ponzi in that hospital, the app even had a feature like a family tree where you could see the links of everyone referred that was connected to you. Even the consultant that sent him was under him. I asked him if I could see how much he had made so far and he obliged.
At that point I made up my mind to register, after all, Christmas is approaching very soon, the sooner the better.
I registered under my friend and did everything, and then I was given a number to send a message to.
I got the number and sent her/him a message...
First thing was that the number had a suspicious dp (tor, no be me go join Ponzi).
I introduced myself and explained who referred me.
And the reply I got was; "what is your number" (read this most sternly way)
I didn't even know I had a number, but I was getting one kind of cultist vibe. (Omoh na where dem dey see the money be this?)
Then She/he sent another message, "send your ID".
I was able to get my ID and then I sent it.
As soon as I sent it, she/he replied; "you're welcome"
The next thing I knew, I was added to a group chat.
Omooo see abundant Ponzi people, saying all sort of Ponzi things.
'God bless this WPP'
'I am now a millionaire'
'we can all make ourselves richer'
Should I be doing this thing with these people? Am I now a Ponzi girl 😢
At some point, the heads of the Ponzi would send some photoshopped images of Coca-Cola endorsing their company. (heheheheh)
Well, at this point my goal was, make your money back QUICK!
Based on their proposal, I was to make a whopping sum of 1.8 mils in a year 😂.
